Victorian Cervical
Cytology Registry
The
Victorian Cytology Service Inc. (VCS) operates the Victorian
Cervical Cytology Registry (VCCR).
The VCCR is a key component of the
cervical screening program and records the results of almost
all the Pap tests performed in Victoria. Functions of the
VCCR include a comprehensive reminder and follow up program
to woman and practitioners, providing a history link for
laboratories reporting Pap tests, conducting research and
producing statistical information on cervical screening.
The VCCR seeks a project officer to work with the Registry
on projects relevant to policy development and monitoring
and evaluation of the cervical screening program.
The project officer will work with senior
registry staff to conduct statistical analyses of VCCR data,
conduct literature reviews, assist in preparation of
manuscripts and participate in research projects.
The successful applicant
will possess a postgraduate qualification in public health,
epidemiology or biostatistics. We seek a person who has
relevant research experience and strong skills in the
analysis of quantitative data and use of relevant software
(e.g. SAS, Stata or SPSS) are required. They will have
excellent written communication skills,
including scientific and report writing and must demonstrate
the capacity to work productively with peers
The VCCR
recently moved to modern, purpose-designed offices in East
Melbourne, close to transport and only a few minutes from
the city centre.
A competitive remuneration package will be
negotiated with the successful applicant. Full salary
packaging is available.
This is a 12 month position in the first
instance.
