Since its
establishment in 1965 Victorian Cytology Service (VCS) has
been the only specialist provider dedicated to the screening
and diagnosis of cervical cancer and its precursors. With
unsurpassed experience of reporting Pap smears for more than
thirty years, we pride ourselves on an ethical, sensitive
and responsible approach to our activities. VCS has
maintained its position as an international centre of
excellence by a recognised commitment to training,
continuing education of our staff, clinical research and
quality control/assurance. Dedication to rigorous
follow-up enables us to deliver high quality care to women
and to gather information for use in our internationally
renowned centre for epidemiological research.
We are proud to have initiated measures
that we hope will contribute to your practice of Women’s
Health. These include regular Newsletters commenting on
issues of concern in cervical screening such as the new
technologies; patient information leaflet; tear-off slips to
assist in notification of results to women; a comprehensive
follow-up program for women with abnormal
smears that
complements the Victorian Cervical Cytology Registry and
regular statistical printouts for your practice.
You can now elect to receive your
Pap test reports in hard copy, by electronic means only or
