Anita has a BSc (Hons) and MPH, both from University of Melbourne. She is a specialist in post-market monitoring of the quality and safety of medical devices with a focus on in vitro diagnostics. She worked in Australia’s National Serology Reference Laboratory on quality assurance for HIV, HTLV and viral hepatitis testing. She joined WHO to work in the Prequalification team to assure the safety, quality and performance of IVDs with an emphasis on assays used at or near to point-of-care, and assays used in resource-limited settings. She now works in the WHO team responsible for preventing, detecting and responding to substandard and falsified medical products where her primary role is to support post-market and market surveillance of medical devices, including IVDs.
