^ From Quarter 4 2013, the number of unsatisfactory CST includes Cytology tests and HPV DNA tests completed as part of the Compass trial.
≠ Quarter 4 2017 is for the two month period 01.10.2017 to 30.11.2017 only and includes pre-renewal Cytology and Compass tests. There are 138 test results excluded from the total as the results were never received by the VCSR.
The above table includes a small proportion of unsatisfactory HPV DNA tests since the commencement of the Compass trial in the fourth quarter of 2013. However prior to this, the proportion of unsatisfactory Cytology tests had slightly increased. The Commonwealth Performance Standards require laboratories to report between 0.5% and 5% of Cytology tests as technically unsatisfactory.
